Cost of CPA in India

The CertifiedPublic Accountant (CPA) qualification, offered by the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants), is highly valued by accounting professionals globally, including in India. While it's a U.S.-based exam, Indian candidates can now take the exam within India, which makes it more accessible—but still relatively expensive.

Key Cost Components

1.   Evaluation & Application Fees
Before taking the exam, your academic credentials must be evaluated.

o    Cost: ₹10,000 – ₹20,000

2.   Exam Fees
The CPA exam has 4 sections (AUD, BEC, FAR, REG), each with a separate fee.

o    Cost: Around ₹80,000 – ₹1,00,000

3.   International Testing Fees
Since the exam is taken outside the U.S. (in India), additional fees apply.

o    Cost: Approx. ₹1,20,000

4.   Coaching/Review Course
Most Indian students enroll in CPA review programs like Becker, Simandhar, or Miles.

o    Cost: ₹1.5 – ₹2.5 lakhs

5.   License & Maintenance Fees
After passing, you'll need to apply for your CPA license and fulfill Continuing Professional Education (CPE) annually.

o    Cost: ₹10,000 – ₹30,000+

Total Estimated Cost:

₹3.5 lakhs – ₹5 lakhs

This estimate can vary depending on the state board you apply through, the review provider you choose, and the currency exchange rate. It’s a significant investment, but the CPA designation can offer strong global career opportunities, especially in MNCs, Big 4 firms, and finance roles.
